— Aarp is going to the cleaners, the company announced Tuesday, in the hope that its sleek new cleaner will help residents return to more regular patterns.
The cleaner, called Clean and Crispy, will be available in the United States beginning Friday and will be delivered to Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand, the firm said.
The cleaner is designed to help keep air fresh by releasing a fine mist of disinfectant particles and cleaning surfaces, the Canadian company said.
The Clean and Gritty Cleaner is designed specifically for people living in apartments, condos, townhouses and other smaller residences where people often clean themselves with hand sanitizer or hand-pumped water, Aarp said in a news release.
It is also designed to be used in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchens and even on the countertops and floors of homes.
This is a major milestone for Aarp, which has long been pushing for a cleaner to be more accessible.
In a blog post on its website, the cleaner said it “will be available to anyone in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Australia who wants to use it.”
The company, which was founded in 1873, makes cleaning products for home use.
Its product line includes products for cleaning surfaces such as floors, counters, bathtubs, sinks and showers, and air conditioning.
Aarp, owned by the family of former president Warren Buffett, is one of the nation’s largest cleaning companies and one of America’s largest employers.
AARP said the Clean and Crumbs product will be in the homes of over 1.6 million people, including 5.4 million in households with children.
The company said it is launching the product in a partnership with Clean and Clean.
